Are there any entry requirements for this course?

Childcare professionals wishing to apply for the NVQ Level 4 in CYPW must have 2-3 years experience in a nursery environment, and be currently working as manager, deputy and / or senior supervisor, with responsibility of managing a staff team.

How long will it take me to complete this course?

Our NVQ courses are unique – we like to tailor your course to meet your particular needs, and to set the course to your own pace. It will take 12-15 months to complete this course.

As the NVQ is a work-based qualification, you will continue working throughout the duration of the course, and our peripatetic assessors will visit you on-site to assess your work.

How are courses taught? Will I have to attend tutorials?

To complement the practical side of the NVQ Level 4 in CYPW, we deliver one-to-one tutorials, which cover this high-level of childcare theory. One of our trainers will visit you at your workplace, once a month, to cover a unit of the course.

What course materials will I need?

JAM will provide you with a folder of relevant material.

How will I be assessed?

The majority of the assessment for the NVQ Level 4 in CYPW is carried out by our peripatetic assessors, who will visit you at work and observe your general workplace activities, such as staff appraisal, staff meetings, and curriculum meetings.

There are also some knowledge-based question assignments, which you must complete in your own time.

How is the course structured?

The certificate comprises 12 mandatory units, plus a choice of optional units. You must complete all 12 units to attain your certificate. These units include:

Do you provide support throughout the course?
